<description>Suriyeli mültecilerin yer seçimi ve yerleşim (kalıcılık) karar süreçlerini şekillendiren unsurların incelenmesi: Yenimahalle (Ankara) örneği
Bu amaç doğrultusunda, nitel bir araştırma yaklaşımıyla yer seçimi ve yerleşim (kalıcılık) süreçlerini şekillendiren unsurların Ankara'nın Yenimahalle ilçesinde Suriyelilerin yoğunlukta olduğu Karşıyaka, Yeşilevler ve Demetevler Mahallelerinde gerçekleştirilen saha çalışmasıyla tespit edilmesi hedeflenmiştir.; After the outbreak of the internal war in Syria in 2011, millions of people were forced to leave their country and migrate to safe regions. The migration wave that spread from Syria to neighboring countries such as Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Turkey, and European countries is referred to as the largest mass migration movement of the twenty-first century. Turkey, due to its "open-door policy" towards Syrians between 2011 and 2015, became the most affected country by the Syrian migration and, as of 2023, has hosted approximately 3.3 million Syrians, making it the country with the highest number of refugees in the world. Turkey, unprepared for such a migration process, initially settled incoming Syrians in tent cities and accommodation centers established in border cities. However, as the number of Syrians rapidly increased without control, the services provided in these tent cities and accommodation centers became inadequate. With deteriorating living conditions and the absence of a comprehensive emplacement policy for Syrians in Turkey, 98.5% of Syrians preferred to live in cities on their own choices. The clustering tendency of Syrians in specific areas within cities and its impact on the socio-spatial changes in urban areas necessitate the examination of the refugees' location choices and settlement (permanence) processes and the determinants of refugees' location choices and settlement (permanence) processes. In this context, this study aims to investigate Syrian refugees' initial location choices and subsequent settlement (permanence) processes, as well as to identify the factors shaping location choice and settlement (permanence) processes. In line with this objective, a qualitative research approach was used to identify the factors shaping location choices and settlement (permanence) processes through a field study conducted in the neighborhoods of Karşıyaka, Yeşilevler, and Demetevler, where Syrians are predominantly concentrated in the Yenimahalle district of Ankara.

<title>Parsel bazlı kentsel dönüşümün kentsel çevreye ve kimlik algısına etkileri: Bahçelievler örneği</title>

<description>Parsel bazlı kentsel dönüşümün kentsel çevreye ve kimlik algısına etkileri: Bahçelievler örneği
Seven, Kerime
Öte yandan çalışma, kentsel değişim ve dönüşüm süreçlerinde yer kimliği olgusunun da içerildiği, bütüncül yaklaşımların geliştirilmesinin önemini ortaya çıkartmaktadır.; Parcel based changes have been experienced in different ways in various periods in Turkey's urbanization history. These; It started with the first apartment building process in the 1960s with the "Kat Mülkiyeti" law, and continued with the changing reconstruction plans, especially in the 80s and 90s. Finally, parcel based urban transformation has become increasingly widespread, especially in urban neighborhoods with aging building stock with the "Afet Riski Altındaki Alanların Dönüştürülmesi Hakkında Kanun " which entered into force in 2012. This transformation puts cities in danger of losing their original characteristics. This characteristics: unique place identity, unique urban, environmental, architectural and socio-cultural features. As a result of the transformation, emerges a uniform building stock. This study argues that parcel based transformation practices have significant effects on the urban environment and the perception of place identity. In this direction, the thesis study the effect examines on the urban environment and place identity perception of parcel-based urban transformation applications in Bahcelievler district of Ankara province. In the study, data were obtained through observation, field research, literature review and in-depth interviews with the residents of the neighborhood who lived in the neighborhood before the parcel-based transformation applications. This study is being examined What kind of changes does parcel based urban transformation in the urban environment and What are the changes in the perceptions of place identity of the interview participants about the neighborhood they live in and what are the factors that cause the changes in this perception. Bahçelievler district has been available since the proclamation of the republic. Bahçelievler was established in a planned manner. The district was established by the cooperative. It is the first garden-city application in Turkey. It has transformed from a unique garden house design to apartment type houses in Bahçelievler. Reasons for this situation: laws enacted over the years, housing needs and changing demands and needs of property owners. The transformation took place in a non-exhaustive way. The transformation took by small-scale contractors called build-sell. The transformation begin in different years, thus causing the district to have residences with four different building typologies. These four different building types observed in the Bahçelievler district today are: (1) the few residences with gardens have been preserved unchanged until today which have the characteristics of an architectural heritage, (2) partially preserved apartments, although the sections allocated to the garden have decreased compared to the past, (3) side and back gardens are reserved for garage, front garden is partially preserved in some, apartments, (4) side and back gardens are included in the construction area and front garden is used as a parking lot, apartments. District are experiencing physical transformation with parcel-based transformation applications. For this reason, district users district users is taking place change and transformation in place identity perception. Place identity is defined by the elements that separate a place from other places and make that place special and important for people. As a result of parcel-based transformation practices cause the perception of place identity to change and transform in Bahçelievler district. This is because, changing physical features and qualities, signs and structures seen as symbols. Transforming buildings have brought about changes in the memories, experiences, sense of belonging and attachment, emotions and feelings, and neighborhood relations in the memories of the users in the district. For this reason, the perception of place identity in Bahçelievler is in danger of losing its original values. Bahçelievler place identity has not completely disappeared. The original elements that creative the place identity are transforming and changing in the memories of the district users. A few of the houses with a garden have survived to the present day, which helped to form the name and identity of the district however, it has been determined partially preserved that the basic elements that affect the perception of place identity in the district. Conducted comprehensive interviews with residents of the district. As a result, it has been determined that the important elements to create the place identity in Bahçelievler. This elements: residential gardens, landscape elements, parks, streets, neighbourhood relationships, memories, sense of belonging and attachment, district users to feel comfortable and happy in the Bahcelievler. It is necessary to protect the Bahçelievler district so that the sense of place identity is not completely lost and ordinary. For this, it has been concluded that the landscape elements in the housing parcels and the landscape elements in the streets should be preserved. On the other hand, in the study, the importance of the development of holistic approaches including place identity in urban change and transformation processes is revealed.

<title>Demiryolu istasyonlarının kentsel mekâna etkileri: Ankara garları örneği</title>

<description>Demiryolu istasyonlarının kentsel mekâna etkileri: Ankara garları örneği
Aydar, Arda
Demiryolu istasyonlarının kent morfolojisini hangi boyutta etkilediğini ve kentsel gelişme ve değişme üzerindeki izleri örnek alan üzerinden inceleyen bu tez çalışmasının, yeni inşa edilecek hatların durak noktası olacak kentlerin deneyimlemeye açık oldukları süreç için bir altlık oluşturması hedeflenmiştir.; Being one of the most reliable means of transportation of the 19th century, the railway network, which developed with the invention of steam trains, provided the establishment of a new and open transportation network for the world states. The extension of this systemic development to Anatolia coincides with the 1830's during the Ottoman Empire period. Although the construction of railways in this period caused urban, structural and spatial changes in Anatolia and port cities, the main changes took place in the founding period of the Turkish Republic after the national struggle. The Republic, unlike the Ottoman Empire, followed national and modern policies in the construction of railways, and thus, national railway and industrial policies supported the development of Anatolian cities. After the proclamation of the Republic, the country was covered with railway networks. With the railway construction, it was aimed to ensure economic integration and internal market integrity across the country, and it became one of the most important components of spatial structuring in Anatolian cities together with the industrialization movement. Although railway construction showed a slowing trend after the establishment period, high-speed train lines started to be built by 2000's in accordance with the development of transportation technologies. Recent railway applications prioritizing the development of high-speed trains require understanding the production of new stations, which are the stopping points in these new networks, and their impact on urban space. The aim of this thesis is to read the spatial impacts of the railways since their initial constructions in late Ottoman Empire period, causing structural changes in Anatolian cities. For this, first of all, the effects of the railway lines built in the pre-Republican and establishment period on creating urban space was monitored through the stations and station streets. Then, the effects of the recently constructed stations on urban space was investigated. Departing from the case of Ankara city, where the practices of each period can be followed, the study put forward the influence of stations and station streets on producing urban Gates and urban spire in the spatial structuring. Examining the extent to which railway stations affect the morphology of the city and the traces on urban development and change through the case study, this thesis aims at developing a baseline for the cities that are open to experience of being the stopping point of the newly built lines.

Ulus historical city center has a very special place among historical city centers with both its historical and planning background. The conservation-rehabilitation plan for the historical city center of Ulus was made in 1990 with an understanding of the needs of the region. However, this first conservation plan was partially implemented and was canceled in 2005. For Ulus, which a new conservation plan was made after the canceled plan, it is seen that the concept of renewal is dominant rather than protection after this period. The second protection plan was canceled in 2007 as a result of the objections of various institutions. After the canceled second plan, in 2013, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality had a new plan made with the partnership of UTTA &amp; İlçan. However, this plan was canceled as a result of lawsuits filed in the following period. After the evaluation of these conservation plans according to the principles of international protection, their consistency, the protection proposals they contain and the protection laws in Turkey, it has been revealed as a result of the study that there is a need for UTKM to make a plan that includes the understanding of protection-rehabilitation and international protection principles as soon as possible.
