Geleneksel kerpiç mimarisinin korunması: Van ili Erciş ilçesi Tekler Mahallesi örneği

Abstract

Kerpiç, Neolitik Çağ'dan bu yana tüm dünyada barınma ihtiyacına cevap veren, kolay temin edilebilir, kolay uygulanabilir, ekonomik, ekolojik ve sağlıklı bir yapı malzemesidir. Ancak, Endüstri Devrimi sonrası değişen yaşam koşulları betonarme, cam, çelik, vb. çağdaş malzemeleri ön plana çıkarmış, kerpiç malzeme ve yapım tekniği bu süreçte unutulmaya yüz tutmuştur. Bugün ise, kadim bir yapı malzemesi olan kerpiç, hızlı tüketim alışkanlıkları ve yaşam biçimlerinin yol açtığı iklim krizi karşısında mimari bir çözüm olarak görülmektedir. Bu bağlamda, kerpiç yapı malzemesi, daha çok korunmaya, araştırılmaya ve geliştirilmeye ihtiyaç duymaktadır. Van ili Erciş ilçesine bağlı olan Tekler Mahallesi, kerpiç yapı malzemesi kullanılarak inşa edilmiş geleneksel mimariye sahiptir. Bu geleneksel dokunun doğal ve sosyal etmenlerle hızlı bir şekilde yok olmaya yüz tuttuğu mahallede, günümüzde, sadece 16 adet geleneksel kerpiç yapı tespit edilmiştir. Bu tez çalışması kapsamında, Tekler Mahallesi'ndeki mevcut geleneksel kerpiç yapıların belgelenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Bu doğrultuda, envanter fişleri hazırlanmış, yazılı ve görsel belgeleme çalışmaları yapılmış ve mimari çizimleri oluşturulmuştur. İlgili yapıların koruma sorunları saptanmış, yapıların korunmasına yönelik uluslararası koruma mevzuatı çerçevesinde ilkesel koruma önerileri sunulmuştur. Bu bağlamda, kerpiç yapı malzemesinin öneminin vurgulanması, teşvik edilmesi ve geleneksel kerpiç yapıların korunarak sürdürülmesi konusunda farkındalık yaratılması amaçlanmıştır.

Since the Neolithic Age, adobe has been an easily available, easily applicable, economical, ecological and healthy building material that has been responding to the need of accommodation. However, the changing living conditions after the Industrial Revolution brought contemporary materials such as concrete, glass, steel, etc. into the forefront, and adobe and its ancient construction techniques tended to be forgotten. Today, earthen architecture is seen as an architectural solution to the climate crisis caused by rapid consumption habits and lifestyles. In this context, adobe building material and earthen architecture needs more conservation action, research and development. Tekler Neighbourhood of Erciş District - Van Province, has vernacular architecture built by adobe bricks. However, today, only 16 mudbrick buildings have been identified in the neighbourhood, where this vernacular architecture is rapidly disappearing due to the natural and social factors. Within the scope of this study, it is aimed to document the existing vernacular adobe buildings in Tekler Neighbourhood. Accordingly, inventory papers were prepared, written and visual documentation studies were carried out, and architectural drawings were made. Conservation problems of the relevant buildings were determined, and conservation proposals were presented within the framework of the international conservation legislations. In this context, it is aimed to emphasize the importance of earthen architecture, to encourage it, and to raise awareness about conserving and sustaining vernacular adobe architecture.
